James Hosts MacMillan Coffee Morning
I am delighted to host a coffee morning to support MacMillan's annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning. Almost everyone knows someone who has suffered from cancer. There are 2.5 million cancer patients across the UK. MacMillan have been providing support to many of those patients and their families over many years.
Raising funds for MacMillan allows the charity to provide that support in many different ways; it provides emotional and practical support to the patient and their family, financial support and also medical, while campaigning for better cancer research and care. Their goal is to make sure no one faces cancer alone.
The coffee morning is Macmillan's biggest fundraising event. It gives those facing cancer and everyone else, the chance to host their own tea party, an opportunity to raise money for the charity.
I want to do my bit in helping this great organisation work with those millions of patients and their families. Hosting an event is a great way to remember those who you have lost to the disease or even just an excuse to catch up for a bleather (if you ever need an excuse!) while contributing to a worthy charity.
So please come and join me in a cuppa and a treat on Friday 25th September 2015 at The Haven, Cathcart Old Parish Church, 119 Carmunock Road, G44 5UW. Bring along family, friends and neighbours for a chat and make a donation to Macmillan. Last year the coffee morning raised an astonishing £25 million. Let’s make Cathcart do it’s bit in exceeding this total in 2015!
